Now this is the kind of collaboration that Jennifer Hudson should be doing!

Today, inescapable French DJ a and collaborator with vocalists everywhere David Guetta—yes, him of “Gettin’ Over You,” “Memories,” and current summer party jam “Where Them Girls At”—released a thumping club anthem, “Night of Your Life,” which features vocal stylings from the former American Idol contestant turned Oscar-winning actress and singer. In a word, it’s amazing.

“Night of Your Life” is a wailing, throbbing song that will undoubtedly fill dance clubs, gay clubs, and gay dance clubs everywhere before too long. I’ve been saying it for a long time: Jennifer Hudson needs to be a club queen.

In its own particular way, “Night” is totally finger-wagging delicious in that Deborah Cox “Absolutely Not” type of way. Lots of repetition, with a rise and fall thatdrives toward the chorus’ final, extreme blowout: “Love me, baby treat me right / Make it eternity and not only one night,” Hudson yells, “If you love me til the end of time / Then I will promise you the night of your life.”

Give the song a whirl here:

Do you love? Hate? Agree that this is the kind of song that Jennifer should be doing?
