'Rescue Me' finale strikes ratings high; 'Paranormal Witness' fair

Rescue Me went out on a relative high note in the ratings: The show’s final episode delivered 2.3 million viewers – the show’s most-watched episode since 2007. On A&E, Storage Wars hit an all-time series high, verging into crazy-ratings Pawn Stars territory. A total of 5.3 million viewers tuned in for the 10:30 p.m. episode.

Meanwhile over on Syfy, new docu-horror reality series Paranormal Witness was no Ghost Hunters: The show opened to 1.3 million viewers, coming in below the premiere of Haunted Collector earlier this summer and below the seventh midseason premiere of Hunters awhile back. Still, Paranormal doubled the last March’s premiere rating of that favorite whipping boy of Syfy bashers – Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen – and provided a solid companion to the latest Hunters episode. So it’s got that going for it.
