CSI: Miami is about to get a little hotter with the addition of a fan-favorite Sopranos star.
Drea de Matteo is set to guest star on the CBS hit during November sweeps, and she has what sounds like a fun role on the show: de Matteo plays a sexy and smart poker player who’s the only woman competing in a dangerous, high-stakes illegal game. When the game is robbed and a man is murdered, we learn she’s actually a devoted mother out to avenge the attempted murder of her son in a similar robbery that left him disabled.
In other words: “It sounds like this poker player” [puts on sunglasses] “is trying to flush out a killer.” [YEAAAAHHH!]
“We’re thrilled to have an actress of Drea’s caliber on the show,” says Miami executive producer Barry O’Brien. “We all fell in love with her as Adriana on The Sopranos and watching her bring a complex and nuanced character to life is a revelation.” In recent years, de Matteo has arcs on Desperate Housewives and Sons of Anarchy. And though her role on Miami isn’t for a couple months, you can catch the crime drama when it returns on Sunday night at 10 p.m.
