In case you didn’t know, when actress Zooey Deschanel isn’t making the masses chuckle with her dry humor, she moonlights as the sweet voice of indie-folk duo She & Him.

That said, who better to call on when the good folks at Fox needed a theme song for New Girl — the sitcom debuting tonight at 9pm EST that she stars in — than Deschanel herself?

Zooey wrote the sugary cut. “Don’t let the sunshine fall from the sky/ Just find the sunshine in your own eyes,’ she sings “Hey Girl.”
