'Dancing with the Stars' eliminated contestant: 'Maybe my story didn't help!'

Good news for those amateur hoofers who end up at bottom of the leaderboard each week: You’re not always the most obvious target for elimination. No where was that more apparent than during Tuesday’s results episode of Dancing with the Stars, when one of the B (C? D?) Listers who earned a middle-of-the-pack score on Monday ended up having to pack a bag on Tuesday. (Way to dodge a bullet, Chaz!)

To read the parting words from the latest goodbye gal or guy, head to the jump.

Kristin Cavallari certainly didn’t strut like a loser on Monday. Her samba with partner Mark Ballas was a hit the crowd, and even her “former” fiance Jay Cutler was in the house to enjoy her hip action to Crazy In Love. And with a 24 out of a possible 30 points - the same score given to Rob Kardashian and Hope Solo – the ex-star of The Hills wasn’t feeling like it was her time to head for the hills.

But Ballas was: His body action in the final moments of Tuesday’s show spoke volumes. “He felt like we were going home,” Cavallari told reporters afterwards. “I was like, `why? Don’t say that, you’re making me nervous!’ And everyone else was walking by and saying, yeah, don’t worry you are fine.”

Maybe Tom Bergeron was right, Cavallari admitted: Maybe the folks at home assumed she was okay and voted for Solo and Kardashian instead. Or maybe her ouster had something to do with her being a young, carefree blonde with no real discernible angst in her life except a supposed breakup with an ex-fiance who still shows up to her events.

“Maybe my story didn’t help,” Cavallari admitted, in reference to Monday’s theme of paying tribute to memorable personal moments. “Everyone had really sad stories. And mine was graduating from high school and moving to Los Angeles.” Perhaps!

So what’s next for the diminutive reality star? She continues to deflect questions about her personal life. (World, you’ll just have to wait to find out if that breakup with Cutler really was one!) In the meantime, she’s hawking shoes for Chinese Laundry as its online ambassador and plans to steer clear of reality shows – for now. “I think I’m done for a little bit,” she said, before cautioning, “but never say never!”
