It’s been almost exactly a year since country singer Taylor Swift dropped her last studio album, Speak Now, but the crossover superstar is already hard at work on her next one — even though she anticipates it won’t be released for another year.

Last night, while promoting the launch of her new perfume, Wonderstruck, Swift revealed that the follow-up to Speak Now is very much in the works. “I’ve written 25 songs so far, so it’s coming along really well,” Swift told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve been writing a lot, and I like to take two years to make a record. We’re at the end of year one and I still have a year left to go to write.” She added: “It’s looking really great.”

Meanwhile, at the same event, Swift told MTV that her 2012 won’t be filled with just sonngwriting — she’s also working on “some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting. I’ve just been so excited about what’s gonna happen in the next year.”

How do you feel about Taylor already talking about her new album? What do you expect from her this time round? Can she possibly top what she’s already done? Where does she go from here? Should she pursue the acting instead? Sound off in the comments section!
