Captain America and General Zod are set to share the same screen. Chris Evans has replaced James Franco in the adaptation of The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer, EW has confirmed. (Deadline initially reported the story.)

Man of Steel‘s Michael Shannon plays Richard Kuklinski, the imposing mob hit-man who bragged of committing more than 100 gruesome murders, and Evans will play his mentor in the crime drama, based on Anthony Bruno’s 1993 book. Production is set to begin in January, according to a source close to production, with Israeli director Ariel Vromen at the helm.
