There may be no question posed to Angelina Jolie more than whether or not she and equally mind-bogglingly attractive partner Brad Pitt will ever get married. (Well, that and “How about a Beowulf sequel, already?!” Sarcasm.) It’s not just the tabloids splashing the still-burning question across their cover. Heck, even Jolie and Pitt’s children are asking them about it.
During an interview with Christiane Amanpour for a segment that will air on both Good Morning America and Nightline, the Oscar winner, who is making the rounds to promote her latest film and directorial debut, the war drama In the Land of Blood and Honey, assured her interviewer she wasn’t the only one asking that oft-posed question. Jolie said, “The kids asked me the other day, and I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a ‘big cake.’” (In her kids’ defense, even if that is their reason, it’s a pretty valid one.) She continued, “They see movies that have the people getting married in the movies … you know, the happily ever after. Shrek and Fiona are married.” Then Jolie, who has become something of an expert question fielder over the past few years, told Amanpour, “We’ve explained to them that our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment you could possibly have. Once you have six children, you’re committed.” Well, that answered that, all right. Watch the moment below:

During the chat Jolie also responded openly and honestly about her children’s education (“I’m being very careful with their schooling. We’re home-schooling especially when it comes to history, to make sure it’s not one country’s point-of-view of their country,”), what makes a relationship work at the core (“Your ethics are the same, the way you approach the world is the same. Not just your love of art, but your sense of what is right and wrong and your sense of the commitment your kids need from you, or your commitment to the rest of the world,”), and even revealed how the death penalty is the one topic she and Brad don’t see eye to eye on. (“I won’t say whose side anyone is on, but it’s the one, the thing nobody brings up at dinner because nobody wants us to go off on each other.”) Any more questions, PopWatchers?
