Neve Campbell (Party of Five) may soon have a series on Lifetime. The network is moving forward with a movie called Sworn to Silence that will serve as a backdoor pilot for a potential series.
It will star Campbell as a former member of an Amish community in Ohio who returns to her hometown to serve as its chief of police. She ends up leading a murder investigation that brings up painful memories of a series of brutal murders that happened in town when Campbell’s character was a child.
The backdoor pilot is based on the book of the same name by Linda Castillo.
Campbell has also closed a deal with Lifetime to develop scripted dramas and original movies. “Growing our scripted programming remains a top priority for Lifetime and our longform strategy provides us with a strong stable from which to identify potential series,” said Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks, in a statement. “I’ve always admired Neve’s work. She is a proven talent who will bring a high level of intensity and presence to this role and Sworn to Silence.”
