'Terra Nova' roars opposite repeats and reality

Fox and CBS finished Monday in a dead heat, according to early nationals, as viewership continues to decline heading into the holidays. Both networks posted a 2.2 rating/6 share in adults 18-49 – though a victor will likely shake out this afternoon when finals come in (and we’re thinking it’ll be the usual winner CBS).

CBS won the night in viewers (7.4 million) followed by Fox (7.1 million).

Terra Nova wrapped its freshman season with a 2.2/6, up 5 percent among 18-49 and up 4 percent in total viewers (7.2 vs. 6.9 million) from last week. The dino show hasn’t been picked up for a second season but word is Fox is thisclose to ordering another 10 or so episodes that’ll bow mid year during the 2012-13 season.

CBS ran repeats of its comedies with Two and a Half Men (2.5/6) performing the best. NBC came in third with a 1.7/4,  having aired the premiere of Who’s Still Standing (1.5/4), another installment of Fear Factor (2.4/6, down 31 percent from last week’s debut of 3.5/8), and a fresh episode of Rock Center With Brian Williams (1.2/3).

ABC came in fourth with two Christmas specials involving pandas and chipmunks, plus an original episode of You Deserve It! (1.1/3) and a repeat of Castle.

The night’s most-watched show was Men (8.4 million) while the least watched one was a repeat of the CW’s Hart of Dixie at 8 (1.3 million).
