In a bald bold move, Cynthia Nixon said au revoir to her signature red locks and debuted a shiny bald look this morning when she stopped by Live! With Kelly. Fear not —  all is well with the famed Sex and the City ginger; she’s shed her tresses for her role in the Broadway production of Wit, where she plays a cancer ridden poetry professor. “I thought it was gonna be no muss, no fuss, but I have to shave it every day!” she explained. Watch the interview after the jump.

Nixon is no stranger to the stage  she picked up Tony Awards for 2006’s Rabbit Hole and 1995’s Indiscretions. Wit is already in previews at the Manhattan Theatre Club and officially opens January 26.

What do you think, PopWatchers? Would Carrie and Co. approve of the new look? Let us know in the comments below.
