Jeremy London charged with spousal abuse

EW has confirmed that Jeremy London (Celebrity Rehab, 7th Heaven) has been charged with a misdemeanor count of spousal battery stemming from a Nov. custody altercation with wife Melissa Cunningham. According to Palm Springs Police Department Sergeant Mike Kovaleff and Riverside County District Attorney’s Office spokesman John Hall, a warrant for London’s arrest was approved yesterday but had not been issued at time of publication. London is also scheduled for a court hearing in Indio, Calif., on Feb. 6 at 8 a.m.

London and Cunningam, who both struggle with addiction, have been involved in several incidents over the custody of their 5-year-old son, Lyrik. London’s rep told People, “The allegation for which this charge against Jeremy London is being filed is false and no such abuse occurred. The facts regarding the incident do not warrant this case moving forward and will prove to be a waste of resources by the DA’s office. Jeremy continues to be focused on his work and looks forward to clearing his name of this allegation.”

London also made headlines in 2010 when he was kidnapped for nearly 12 hours and forced to smoke crack and meth by armed assailants, then a month later when he attempted to file a restraining order against nay-saying family members. That fall, he joined the cast of Celebrity Rehab.
