Remember that big episode of South Park last year, in which Stan looked around at the miserable state of American culture — Adam Sandler movies, inscrutable tween hip-hop, a duck president — and descended into a black depression? The upcoming God Bless America is sort of a murderous semi-sequel to that episode. Joel Murray (Freddy Rumsen!) plays a sad-sack dude who doesn’t recognize the world on his television. (One of the shows he watches is called Tuff Gurls, which features the line “Did you motherf—ing poop in my food?”) Then the guy gets a tumor. Then he decides to kill every annoying person in America — starting with a contestant on My Super Sweet 16, and apparently concluding with an American Idol massacre. Also, there’s a teenage girl who comes with him on the murder spree. Basically, it’s the next Hugo.
