The guys who previously taught us how to properly use a treadmill and master the art of canine-based dance are now tackling another subject: color theory.

Rock band OK Go, known for their offbeat viral videos, created an educational music video called “3 Primary Colors” for the folks down on Sesame Street. If we know anything, it’s that Sesame-related music videos are a special breed of wonderful.

The video features the same creative stop-motion style that the band commonly employs, with kid-friendly lyrics that explain the basics of primary colors: red and blue make purple, yellow and blue make green, red and yellow make orange, and so on and so forth. (If any of those statements came as a shock to you, then you might want to tune in when the clip airs on February 2nd.)

Check out the song after the jump, and let an educational palette of primary hues wash over you:

This isn’t the first time that OK Go have been artistically linked to Muppets; back in August they remixed the theme song from The Muppet Show to coincide with the release of The Muppets in theaters.
