Whether or not you were happy with the outcome of the Super Bowl, you’ll find it hard not to smile while watching NBC’s ridiculously fun promo (which aired during the pre-show) featuring the casts of… well, just about everything on NBC.
The Peacock gathered its various stars together for a super-sized Super Bowl commercial featuring a rousing rendition of “Brotherhood of Man” from the Broadway musical “How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying).”
The clip opens with a short skit featuring Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and the cast of 30 Rock before Baldwin launches into the song. What follows is a montage of familiar NBC faces breaking out into infectiously charming song-and-dance routines: The Office employees (who are familiar with musical numbers), the Parks & Rec bureaucrats (Ron Swanson dances!), the Community students (the network keeps the faith!), and even the new faces of Smash, Are You There, Chelsea? and Grimm pop up in the brotherhood (and sisterhood) of NBC’s stars.
As a Broadway geek, I’m ecstatic, but as a fan of NBC’s sitcoms, this commercial just makes me downright happy. The brilliant casts are the reason why most of these shows are still popular, and I’m thrilled to say that it looks like they’re all having a blast (except maybe Donald Trump, much to the surprise of absolutely no one).
