If you somehow didn’t catch it on the SportsCenter highlight reel, here it is, Danica Patrick’s nasty crash during a Daytona 500 qualifying race on Thursday. While the driver is doing fine (Patrick tweeted after the wreck, “Well….that was a bummer. I am ok, icing my sore spots down, getting ready for the weekend! Thanks for the concern”) it’s still scary to watch.
Check out the wild video below, which shows footage from inside the car at the moment of impact, while the always-cool-under-pressure Patrick stays calm and collected throughout the ordeal. In pop-culture terms, it’s the exact opposite of this. (And if you don’t feel like listening to the announcers, you can always just turn down the sound and play the Drive soundtrack over it.)

Does footage like this make you wince or is this sort of thing the total appeal of watching live racing? PopWatchers, is this just further proof that GoDaddy.com never does anybody any good? Should we officially add Patrick to our Butt-kicking Babes gallery? Share in the comments section below.
