'Necessary Roughness' books 'Silk Stalkings' star, 'Sex and the City' alum for guest spots -- EXCLUSIVE

Necessary Roughness has booked a pairof TV vets to appear during the first few episodes of the show’s second season, which begins filming today in Atlanta, Ga.

EW as learned Rob Estes (of Silk Stalkings fame) will appear in the first episode back as Rob Maroney, Terrence”s (Mehcad Brooks) agent who is willing to go to any lengths to fulfill his wishes.

Evan Handler, meanwhile, will guest as Marshall Pittman, a powerful media mogul who owns the New York Hawks (think a little Richard Branson, combined with Ted Turner). Handler, who most will remember from his days as Charlotte’s hubby on Sex and the City, will appear in three episodes.

Amanda Detmer is also set to return for multiple episodes as Jeanette, Dr. Dani’s (Callie Thorne) best friend. She’ll appear on a recurring basis.

Necessary Roughness returns this summer.
