Following Houston’s sudden death in February, those involved with the film have spoken out about working with the singer, who also served as executive producer. Star Jordin Sparks said that “it was amazing to walk into work and then Whitney is sitting in her chair blasting gospel music and singing,” while producer Howard Rosenman said Houston “is unbelievably brilliant in [the film].”
Sparkle doesn’t hit theaters until Aug. 17, but what do you think of the clip? Does it break your heart or warm it to see a smiling Houston back on the big screen?
