He is known for burning socks, burying machetes, and practically pulling hidden immunity idols out of his rear end, but now Survivor villain Russell Hantz is trading in the tan to familiarize himself with new tools of the trade — actual tools. He’ll be starring with his brother Shawn (whom you may remember as Brandon’s dad on Survivor: South Pacific) in A&E’s new Flipped Off (debuting Saturday night at 10 p.m.). Russell stopped by to chat with Jessica Shaw and yours truly on the latest edition of EW’s InsideTV Podcast.
Why is Russell now flipping houses? Is he really that mean to his brother? And will nephew Brandon appear on the show? We also chat about Survivor past, present, and future. What does Russell think about One World villain Colton? Will he come back to play a fourth time (even though he once promised he wouldn’t)? And what other reality competition show would Russell like to try his hand at? Listen in and find out!
But Russell is not our only Survivor guest. The recently ousted Troyzan also calls in to discuss how, when, and why it all went wrong. Does he regret the men’s decision to voluntarily go to Tribal Council? (His answer will surprise you.) Does he wish he had stood up to Colton more? And is there anyone he has anything good to say about? As always, Troy has a lot on his mind and he’s not shy about sharing it.
