There are a few mysteries to solve this week, starting with a new one from Sherlock Holmes on the second season of Sherlock on PBS, then moving through the start of season finales to discover the winner of The Voice. Later in the week, find some great pop culture graduation gifts (’tis the season…) like the new Stephen Colbert book, and then don’t forget to do something nice for your mom next Sunday. Have a great week!

Sherlock returns to Masterpiece Mystery, PBS, 9 p.m.

Making plans for Sunday nights the next few weeks is elementary, my dear PopWatchers. Benedict Cumberbatch is back as everyone’s favorite detective and Martin Freeman joins him as Watson for the second season of the beloved Steven-Moffat-and-Mark-Gatiss series.  This week: Could Sherlock be in love? Check out Ken Tucker’s preview below.

The Voice finale shows start, NBC, 8 p.m.

The first of two finale shows for The Voice is tonight, with the final four performing. The three to one male-female ratio seems to be tipping in Juliet’s favor — if she can pull it off. But Adam’s support for Tony held a lot of weight last week. Who’s your pick to win it all? You’ll have to wait until Tuesday to find out!

I am a Pole (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert, available in bookstores and online

Stephen Colbert is right and you are wrong. Take a few hilarious life lessons from the Colbert Report comedian in his new (sort of) kids book, particularly if you have any graduation gifts to stock up on this week.

Carrie Underwood on Ellen, ABC, 4 p.m.

American Idol-turned-country superstar Carrie Underwood joins Ellen today to answer the question all of Ellen’s guests face at some point — can they take a joke? You never know what good-natured prank the comedienne may pull! We’re still cracking up over the sloth visit when Kristen Bell stopped by.

The Big Bang Theory season finale

Is space or marriage the final frontier? Wolowitz is heading up, up, up on a NASA mission (potentially disrupting his and Bernadette’s wedding plans), and Leonard inadvertently popped the question to Penny last week… at a pretty inopportune moment. What will come of the gang as the fifth season rounds out?

Dark Shadows opens in theaters

Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, and Helena Bonham Carter team up once again in this funny, weird (well, of course) remake of the 1960-70s gothic vampire soap opera. If the posters (and our cover story) are any indication, it’s bound to be another kooky ride from one of our favorite movie-making teams.

Will Ferrell hosts Saturday Night Live, NBC, 11:35pm

Will Ferrell returns to his old stomping grounds this week with musical guest Usher. Please, please, please let there be a new Celebrity Jeopardy! sketch. I’ll take the-rapists for $200 please, Will. I mean Alex.

Happy Mother’s Day: Best & Worst Moms in Pop Culture

Last year our friends at Time put together this classic list of the best and worst moms in pop culture.  So honor your mama today and be thankful she’s more like The Queen Mother from Alien than Margaret White from Carrie.
