Do you feel like something is missing from your weekday? If you do, ABC is hoping that the void can be filled with a morning show in the mid afternoon!
For nine weeks starting on July 9, ABC will air Good Afternoon America, an “energetic, fast-paced” pop culture news program anchored by Good Morning America’s Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer (with Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Sam Champion making occasional appearances as well). The show is aimed to be a one hour extension of GMA that will tape at the network’s Times Square studio and air at 2 p.m. EST.
“Good Afternoon America gives us the opportunity to reach a different audience, and better yet, spend a little more time with our morning viewers who want to be a part of the conversation and fun we plan on bringing to afternoon TV,” said co-anchor Lara Spencer in the ABC News press release.
