David Bowie, the king of glam-rock, is getting a museum exhibition.

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London plans to stage a retrospective of the artist’s life and career, featuring 300 personal items including instruments, diaries, sketches, album art, and costumes — yes, they’ve got the Ziggy Stardust jumpsuit.

Organizers said the show, called “David Bowie Is,” will celebrate his place in culture and his lasting influence on countless other artists and musicians.

The show opens in March 2013.  The featured items come from the David Bowie Archive in New York.
