It had been long-rumored, but now it looks official: Adele will aid James Bond by recording Skyfall’s official theme song.
The song will be called, yes, “Skyfall,” and some or all of it has likely already been recorded: Adele’s been seen chilling at an MGM recording studio, which only fueled all the early speculation. In recording a James Bond musical entry, she’ll be joining a club that includes Paul McCartney, Alicia Keys and Jack White, Carly Simon, Garbage, and others.
Plus, those keeping score at home are no doubt aware that this will be her first new song since her record-crushing 2010 album 21, let alone her pregnancy announcement.
The Sam Mendes-directed Skyfall opens Oct. 26 abroad and Nov. 9 in the States.
