In the whole continent of Westeros, few people live more difficult lives than the men of the Night’s Watch. An army composed mainly of thieves, murderers, rapists, and horse thieves, the Night’s Watch maintains guard in great Wall in the frozen north. They take vows of celibacy. They live in abject poverty. Their lives are nasty, brutish, and short. And now, you can, too! To celebrate the home release of Game of Thrones season 2, HBO has created MyWatchBegins.com, where you can record your own version of the Night’s Watch oath and then listen as your voice is added to the multitude. (It’s kind of like when Hans Zimmer asked you to chant in Banespeak for the Dark Knight Rises soundtrack.) Below is a video demonstrating this. Watch the video, and remember: The Night’s Watch might not be an ideal career path, but they do offer free health care.
