Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones is taking another shot at primetime. He’s set to costar with Better Off Ted‘s Andrea Anders in the ABC pilot Divorce: A Love Story, in which the pair play a recently divorced couple who were bad together but discover they’re even worse apart.

The casting news was first reported by Deadline, which says Jones would only leave The Daily Show if the pilot went to series. The comedy, based on Israel’s Life Isn’t Everything, isn’t Jones’ first attempt at landing a regular role on a network comedy. In 2008, Jones and wife Samantha Bee wrote a pilot they hoped to star in about a celebrity chef; in 2010, he played a father in the pilot How to Be a Better American; in 2011, he was the husband of a celebrity in The Assistants; and last year, he was cast as a single guy taking care of his military sister’s children in a pilot exec produced by Steve Carell and Chris Weitz.
