Justin Timberlake boosts 'Saturday Night Live' ratings

With Justin Timberlake marking his fifth time hosting the show, NBC’s Saturday Night Live delivered its biggest overnight rating in 14 months.

SNL had a 5.9 in the metered-market households, the show’s best since Charles Barkley hosted and Kelly Clarkson was the musical guest following a primetime NFL playoff game (in other words, that one had a big lead-in).

Saturday’s telecast featured appearances by Dan Aykroyd, Alec Baldwin, Candice Bergen, Chevy Chase, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, Martin Short and Paul Simon. For a full analysis of the show, check out EW’s recap.
