Disney's 'Planes' releases new high-flying scene -- VIDEO

Disney’s Planes – the animated film that’s a spin-off of sorts from Cars – has released a new clip online just over four months before from its summer release.

Dusty, the prop plane we last saw hesitant to take off a jet carrier, looks like he’s gotten over his fear of flying in this clip. Below check out the Dane Cook-voiced airplane racing a pair of jets over a rocky and lush landscape, through more than a few plane-shaped clouds and landforms.

Makes you wonder if Disney will be able to resist updating their popular Soarin’ Over California ride at California Adventure with some Planes promotion.

Planes, a Disney movie originally created for a direct-to-video release, will hit theaters on August 9. The film is being billed as “from above the world of Cars,” though Pixar wasn’t involved in its making. The voice cast includes John Cleese, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Brad Garrett, and Teri Hatcher, as well as Top Gun alums Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards.
