Just in time for EW’s Superman-powered Summer Movie Preview issue, this week on the Entertainment Geekly podcast we’re taking a close look at the approaching parade of superhero sequels, sci-fi post-apocalypses, and big giant robot monsters. Jeff and I constructed an elaborate system for grading how excited we were about each other; in honor of the new Star Trek reboot-sequel, we rate all the movies on a scale from Final Frontier (least excited) to Wrath of Khan (most excited), with Search for Spock falling somewhere in the middle. Topics discussed include apocalypse fatigue, the recent career of Zack Snyder, the greatness of Edgar Wright, and the possibility that Fast & Furious 6 will turn into an allegorical exploration of the American health care system.
