Ted co-star Giovanni Ribisi is taking over the lead role of Seth MacFarlane’s new sitcom pilot Dads. Ribisi (Boiler Room, Gone in Sixty Seconds) will replace previously announced star Tommy Dewey.

Dads is about two successful guys (the other played by Family Guy’s Seth Green) who have their lives turned upside down when their dads unexpectedly move in with them. Ribisi played the villainous teddy bear kidnapper in Ted, while the Dads pilot is from Ted executive producer MacFarlane and the film’s writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

After the Dads taped last week, sources say producers decided to change Dewey’s character and bring in another actor for the role.
