When Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from basketballer Kris Humphries on Halloween 2011 after just 72 days of marriage, she likely didn’t think it would take a year and a half to finalize the dissolution of the brief union.
The former couple have finally reached a settlement in their divorce proceedings, People reports.
“As a result of this agreement, we will not have a trial in this case,” Judge Hank M. Goldberg announced today in Los Angeles Superior Court. “I want to congratulate the attorneys on both sides. This is a sensible way to resolve this case.”
Kardashian was present in court today, while an absent Humphries was represented by his attorney.
Humphries had been seeking an annulment, alleging Kardashian committed fraud when she married him in August 2011, but the settlement agreed to by both parties was instead a divorce.
Kardashian is expecting her first child with boyfriend Kanye West.
