Olivier Libaux is a prolific songwriter, performer, and producer, but he’s probably most known for Nouvelle Vague, a project that took punk and New Wave classics (like Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” and the Clash’s “Guns of Brixton”) and reworked them into awesomely lounge-lizardy grooves.
Libaux’s latest project is called Uncovered: QOTSA, which takes Queens of the Stone Age songs and gives them the Nouvelle Vague treatment. Singer/songwriter Inara George has the privilege of taking on what is probably the band’s best known hit, “No One Knows,” and inspiring a faceless, langorous girl to strip down to her birthday suit in the video, which you can watch exclusively below.
