'Glee' scoop: Which castmembers are leaving next season?

(Kwaku Alston/FOX)

The halls of Glee’s McKinley High are going to be much less crowded in season 5. EW has confirmed that Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike), Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Amber Riley (Mercedes) will not be returning next season. There’s a chance their characters may come back in guest-appearances.

The news makes sense: Morris’ Brittany graduated this year and enrolled in MIT. The others had previously all graduated from MicKinley and moved on, only returning occasionally throughout the season.

20th Century Fox had no comment. TV Line first reported the news.

Season 5 of Glee starts Sept. 19 on Fox.
