Paula Deen's cookbook dropped by publisher

The planned release of Paula Deen’s cookbook has been halted.

Deen, who has been scrutinized for racist remarks that have resulted in many of her sponsors and partners to cut ties with the cook and lifestyle expert. The latest, publisher Ballantine Books, announced that it has canceled publication of “Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up.

In this cookbook, Deen intended to share with readers recipes for delicious home-cooked favorites, with healthy substitutions. The book already reached number on and was scheduled to be released in October.
