Throughout the third season of Falling Skies, Hal Mason has been secretly struggling with a piece of alien tech controlling his actions. The “evil Hal” storyline came to a head in tonight’s intense episode that Wil Wheaton, host of Falling Skies post-airing talk show 2nd Watch, calls “one of the most white knuckle-inducing episode we’ve ever seen.”
SPOILER ALERT: Don’t read on if you do not want to find out what happened in tonight’s episode of Falling Skies, “Be Silent and Come Out.”
Falling Skies served up shocker after shocker Sunday as “evil Hal” took his own father hostage, threatening to kill him if he didn’t reveal the details of the mysterious Vohm tech being prepped for an attack against the invading Espheni aliens. With the help of his family, Maggie, and a risky Vohm extraction procedure, Hal was finally rid (apparently, at least) of the parasite connecting him to his girlfriend-turned-alien-leader Karen.
In the latest installment of 2nd Watch, Wheaton leads a discussion with Drew Roy (Hal), Sarah Sanguin Carter (Maggie), Maxim Knight (Matt Mason), and showrunner Remi Aubuchon about tonight’s nail-biter episode. Check out 2nd Watch below, and then read more about the making of “Be Silent and Come Out” in EW’s Q&A with Roy.
TNT’s Falling Skies airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
