Nick Lachey, former member of 98 Degrees and ’90s heartthrob, played a one-night-only live show Monday — at a Manhattan Wendy’s.

“He keeps it hot and juicy, just like the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger,” said the enthusiastic Wendy’s employee who introduced him. “Give it up for 98 degrees of deliciousness: Nick Lachey!”

Lachey signed on to sing the praises of the limited-time burger for a viral campaign that incorporates social media and appeals to the days of writing “I heart Nick” on junior high notebooks. Lachey regularly used the lyric “hashtag” in his originally penned ode to the PBC, before launching into a couple of songs that were actual, non-burger-related jams.

Fans of the new burger can tweet using the hashtag #PretzelLoveSongs to submit lyrics and ideas for more songs fawning over the sandwich throughout the next couple of months in videos featuring comedians and artists (including another appearance by Lachey — the dude loves his PBC).
