That was fast: Screenwriters Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy (The Fighter) have optioned and will adapt the forthcoming book about the Boston bombings, Boston Strong, EW has confirmed.

Boston Strong, written by Casey Sherman and Boston Herald reporter Dave Wedge, will examine the city’s response to the fatal April 15 bombing at the Boston Marathon, according to Deadline, who originally reported the news. The book will be published by University Press of New England next year; additional details about the in-the-works film are not yet available.
