Nothing says luxury more than a $120 plain white T-shirt, according to Kanye West’s design logic. And it seems that fashion fans agree.

On Sunday, West’s capsule clothing collection arrived at A.P.C. and the pieces began selling out — and the French retailer’s site crashed in the wake of the frenzy — as fast as you can say “Yeezus!”

The A.P.C. Kanye line includes two styles of jeans, two shirts, and three sweatshirts, with retail prices between $120-$280. The hottest item? The plain white “Hip Hop T-Shirt,” a loose Egyptian cotton short sleeve shirt with the words “A.P.C. KANYE” silkscreened inside was the first to go out of stock. The $265 “Kanye Jeans,” made from Japanese raw denim, are still available, though they’re in short supply.

A.P.C. has restocked some pieces and is accepting pre-orders for others, but if you’re a fan of Kanye’s style, you’d better get out your credit card and act now — it could be a while before there’s a follow-up collection, considering that A.P.C. designer Jean Touitou said this one was two years in the making. West has previously collaborated with Nike, Louis Vuitton, Bape, and Giuseppe Zanotti.

No word from West on why the threads are so pricey, but the rapper did tweet out his gratitude earlier this month: “Thank you Jean Touitou for letting me create with you.” Of course, the real credit for the success of the line should go to online shoppers.
