'Peg + Cat' on PBS Kids this fall: FIRST LOOK

PEG CAT

(PBS Kids)

We’re all used to that old trope about a boy and his dog, but what about a girl and her cat? How about a girl and a cat who help teach kids about math?

Well, you can soon find out when Peg + Cat, a new animated preschool series on PBS kids, hits the small screen this fall.  Co-creators Billy Aronson (Rent, Postcards from Buster) and Jennifer Oxley (Little Bill, The Wonder Pets!) have teamed with The Fred Rogers Company for this show which follows the adorable, spirited Peg and her sidekick Cat as they embark on adventures and learn foundational math concepts and skills. Each episode features engaging stories in any number of possible worlds, as Peg and Cat encounter a problem that requires them to use math and problem solving skills in order to move forward.

Take a look at a clip from the new series, which premieres October 7, 2013 with a special one-hour broadcast of two back-to-back episodes. The series will air daily following its premiere.
