New 'Eastbound & Down' trailer: Kenny Powers is a phoenix rising -- VIDEO

Last spring, Eastbound & Down seemed as dead as Kenny Powers’ major league career. Thankfully for fans, HBO eventually convinced the cult favorite’s team to return for one last  season – which may be why this new trailer opens with KP (series co-creator Danny McBride) entering a church and declaring, “I’m alive, brother.”

And Kenny’s not just alive: He’s living, man. The comedy’s final outing will apparently find the ex-pro jockeying to become “way more famous” and going after what he thinks he’s entitled to: namely, “fame, money, respect, [and] chicken change.” Expect plenty of scantily clad ladies, a guest turn from Ken Marino, and even Lindsay Lohan – though unfortunately, the comeback queen doesn’t appear in the trailer.

Eastbound’s eight-episode “epic final season” premieres Sept. 29 on HBO.
