The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be graced by a knight in shining spectacles this year: Sir Elton John is scheduled to perform at the awards show for the first time.

The multiple Grammy winner will pay tribute to Liberace, the famously flamboyant pianist and entertainer who died of HIV/AIDS-related illnesses in 1987. HBO’s recent biopic about the late singer, Behind the Candelabra, is up for 15 Emmy Awards this year. The film stars Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, both of whom are nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries (and are Emmy presenters to boot).

The Primetime Emmy Awards air Sunday, Sept. 22 on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET.
