Ben Affleck might be the new Batman, but that doesn’t mean his only focus is on the big screen.
EW has confirmed that Fox has given a pilot order to The Middle Man, a crime drama set in 1960’s Boston. Affleck will direct the pilot episode, as well as serve as an executive producer, along with Glenn Gordon Caron (Moonlighting), who wrote the pilot script. Chay Charter (Argo) is also listed as an executive producer.
The Middle Man focuses on the relationship between the FBI agent responsible for taking down the Italian-American mafia and his confidential informant, an Irish-American gangster. Throughout the relationship, “the duo’s actions inadvertently give rise to the Irish-American mob in this timeless Boston crime saga,” according to a press release.
Production on The Middle Man is set to begin in early 2014.
