Actor Christopher McDonald was arrested and charged early Wednesday morning for a DWI in Wilmington, N.C., EW has confirmed.
Sergeant C.K. Parks said the 58-year-old Happy Gilmore vet, who is on location shooting the film The Squeeze, was stopped by the State Highway Patrol at 1:45 a.m. and taken into the New Hanover County jail after a breathalyzer test determined McDonald’s blood alcohol was 0.15 — nearly two times the state’s legal limit.
McDonald was released on $1,000 bail at 7:20 a.m. He has a court date set for Dec. 11.
McDonald’s publicist had no immediate comment.
