Following his arrest Sunday in Washington, D.C., for allegedly hitting a man trying to take a picture with him, Chris Brown has checked into rehab, his rep confirmed to EW.
“Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,” a rep for the singer told EW via email late Tuesday. “His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”
There’s no word yet on what specifically the singer/actor is hoping to treat in the facility, though TMZ is reporting it’s for anger management.
Brown was originally charged with felony assault in Sunday’s incident, but the charge was downgraded to a misdemeanor in court on Monday. Any brushes with the law are bad news for Brown, however, since he remains on probation following his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009.
