Charlie Sheen is making headlines again, this time with a pair of head-turning weekend tweets.
The actor tweeted Sunday that he wants to “make amends” with his former longtime Two and a Half Men boss Chuck Lorre. The actor wrote, “hey Chuck. I have an idea that u need to hear after I make amends to you and yours. which I will do in person.” The message was accompanied by a pic of a People’s Choice Award for Two and a Half Men from 2007. A representative for Men/Warner Bros. had no comment.
The move follows another notable tweet on Friday, when Sheen apparently called the judge of his custody battle an “anus brain” and his ex-wife Brooke Mueller an “Adderall snorting husk.” The move may have violated a gag order preventing him from speaking about the trial. He later added, “and if this means being jailed for loving and trying to protect my children, then go for it. I have as many friends on the inside as i do out here. my passion WILL NOT be silenced. you are all now standing in my way. I’d recommend a shift in your geography.”
First, the Lorre tweet raises a couple questions. Is Sheen’s idea that Lorre needs to hear – for a new show? Getting back on his old show (where his character was killed off)? And isn’t saying “which I will do in person” just a tad presumptuous when Sheen so completely scorched that earth? As for the tweet about the trial: Sheen has as many friends in jail as outside of it?
Back story: Sheen was fired from Men in 2011 after unleashing epic public rants against Lorre and CBS. He then sued CBS, studio Warner Bros. and Lorre for the dismissal. He now stars on the FX sitcom Anger Management. Last summer, Sheen sparked controversy once again when his co-star Selma Blair was dismissed from the show after she allegedly questioned his work ethic.
Here’s the Lorre tweet. What do you think? Could one of TV’s most dramatic and public working relationship meltdowns have a reconciliation? Or is Sheen back on the tiger blood?
