Criminal Minds is a drama that steadily put out a solid-ish performance week after week, but the media tends to ignore the show (except when TV violence becomes a hot topic). But EW posted a sneak peek of Wednesday’s episode featuring the return of Shirtless Morgan, and now here’s a ratings story headlining with Minds: Because yesterday’s hour was the most-watched of the season.
Minds had 11.6 million viewers and had a a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating, jumping 17 percent from last week. The ratings gain was despite airing against all-original competition and lead-in Survivor dipping a notch. At 10 p.m., CBS’ CSI was up 6 percent. Maybe Minds should do Shirtless Morgan every week?
Over on The CW, freshman sci-fi drama The Tomorrow People chugged along steadily after getting a full-season order, despite lead-in Arrow rising (fellow freshman pickup The Originals rose on Tuesday).
NBC and ABC’s lineup was all within 7 percent of last week – except Super Fun Night, which jumped 24 percent from its last original two weeks ago (which might have been exciting growth, except its lead-in Modern Family aired its last original three weeks ago – so Rebel Wilson didn’t have the Dunphys backing her up last time). Fox’s The X Factor was up this week.
