Wild
TBA
In the summer of 1995, a 26-year-old novice hiker named Cheryl Strayed (Reese Witherspoon) set out on the formidable Pacific Crest Trail to rid herself of some personal demons. To retell Strayed’s 2012 memoir, Wild, director Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club) shot mostly chronologically, used natural light, and even banned mirrors in the makeup trailer. “She went Method with the hair and no makeup,” says Vallée. “We wanted to see Reese out there, not vain at all, not concerned with her image — and she went for it.”
