'The Assets' canceled by ABC

THE ASSETS

This is a rarity: A mini-series has been canceled.

Even though ABC only planned to air eight episodes of The Assets, the network is yanking the show after just two weeks.

The Assets will be replaced for the next three weeks by episodes of Shark Tank, the spackle of ABC prime-time. The mini-series depicted the fact-based story of CIA traitor Aldrich Ames. Last night’s 10 p.m. episode had only 2.9 million viewers and a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49.
