Woody Allen’s tribute at the Golden Globes attracted many fans — most notably Diane Keaton, who sang the Girl Scout theme song mid-way through congratulating him. But not everyone was willing to celebrate the Oscar-winning director.
Ex Mia Farrow went the joking route while making clear she wouldn’t be watching, tweeting, “Time to grab some icecream & switch over to #GIRLS…Nite all.”
Ronan Farrow, Allen and Farrow’s biological child (Or is he?), went with some sharper comments: “Missed the Woody Allen tribute – did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?” (Mia Farrow then retweeted this message.)
Ronan, who has openly cut off all ties to Allen, is referring to his sister, Farrow’s adopted daughter Dylan, who accused Allen of molesting her twenty years ago. (Allen denies the charges.) Dylan, along with many other of Farrow’s children, spoke to Vanity Fair in a recent profile. After tweeting out his comments tonight, Ronan also retweeted the Vanity Fair profile. The sexual abuse allegations, of course, aren’t even touching the also-troubling fact that Allen wound up marrying Farrow’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, after years as Mia’s boyfriend.
This isn’t the first time Farrow had made a biting comment about Allen on Twitter. On Father’s Day 2012, he tweeted, “Happy father’s day — or as they call it in my family, happy brother-in-law’s day.”
