At Sundance to promote the drama Song One, Anne Hathaway wore a series of out-of-character outfits.
What’s with the stovepipe leather pants, the motorcycle boots, and that androgynous Robin Hood green suit? Turns out the actress’ transformation is the result of a breakup… with her stylist.
After a decade-long relationship, the Oscar winner has parted ways with celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. Hathaway has reportedly hired stylist Penny Lovell, whose clients include Rose Byrne and Orange is the New Black star Taylor Schilling.
A source told E! News that the Hathaway/Zoe split may just be a trial separation, and the pair appeared to be on friendly terms when they bumped into each other at the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market yesterday.
“Rachel and Anne aren’t currently working together. However, their relationship isn’t over. Anne is just trying out something new for the time being,” the E! source claimed.
Lovell began working with Hathaway in time to prep her for the Sundance circuit – which explains all those edgy menswear-inspired looks – but will she dress her for the Oscars?
Considering last year’s fashion debacle – Hathaway made a last-minute decision to swap dresses after hearing that another actress planned to wear something similar – the actress is probably looking to make a red carpet comeback.
