A private funeral service will be held in New York for the family and close friends of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, People reports. No word yet on when the private service will be held.
A rep told People that plans are also under way for a more public memorial service, also in New York. “In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Phil’s name to two charities that were very close to his heart: The DreamYard Project and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation,” the rep said. “The family wishes to thank everyone for their continued support and good wishes.”
Hoffman was found dead Sunday of an apparent drug overdose in his New York apartment. He was 46.
